Plastic is lighter but gets damaged by hot stoves, pans, and utensils. Metal is nice because you can set hot stuff on it without a hot pad. Metal, wood, or plastic - those are pretty much your options. Look for a camp table that can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. They get bumped, flipped, set up and folded up, rained on, covered in mud, and sometimes even covered in bacon grease. The joint in the middle is usually a weak spot and can fail if you load it up with too much weight.Ĭamping tables take a lot of abuse.
